United Way Campaigns:
If your company has a United Way campaign, and you have the option of writing in a charity not listed, please consider the Fair Wisconsin Education Fund. You can also ask your employer to consider running parallel campaigns with both Community Shares and the United Way next year. Please consider writing in "Fair Wisconsin Education Fund" -- which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

If your employer does not offer a workplace giving program:
Ask them to consider starting one with the Community Shares organization in your area. Workplace giving is an easy way to make a contribution and in some cases can be matched by your employer to double the impact of your gift!

Not interested in Workplace Giving? There are many other ways to be involved. Check back later this week to see how a small monthly commitment can add up to a big impact though our GEM (Give Every Month) Club!

Our workplace does a United Way drive every day and each year I HATE it-- our county Unity Way supports organizations that discriminate against the LGBT community through their policies, and each year I give $1.00 because they guilt us if we don't count towards our % of people that gave. Even that $1.00 makes my skin CRAWL! I wish I had seen this yesterday when I pledged my $1.00. I would have pledged a higher amount and directed it! Our online system does require the organization address and phone number if directing a pledge to a non-listed organization. It may be helpful to update your blog post with that information! Thanks for all the good that you do! (and I'll see what I can do to cancel my donation and re-do it- at a higher amount, too!)
I too wanted to donate - our company only uses the United Way and they require address and phone information - I've searched and can't find the information - I'll have to pass this year - in future years please provide all the information necessary so that I can support Fair Wisconsin through workplace giving.
